All done!!
I've finally completed this project. The film was something I'm really proud of as I worked hard to complete it. Here is my prezi:

Problems
During the course of making this film project come to life, I've faced so many difficulties along the way. At first I had this wonderful idea of a love story that was clumsy, funny, at times cringe enough for my preferred audience to laugh at.
I wanted it to be a non-traditional love story whereby it's the female character trying to woo and impress the guy of her dreams but he's not having any of it. Her failed attempts of attracting him would seem to be making him uncomfortable and awkward. This was my idea for the film, however due to my actors never being able to shoot, I had to quickly shake it up.
It became extremely last minute to get actors and shoot , thus leading me to do it all by myself. I had no help whatsoever, as I had to shoot, act and direct all alone. It was extremely hard for me to create the film.

Audience Research
Since I've decided to do a silent film, I need to target both young adults and elderly people. Although this might be difficult, it could eventually work. As this is vintage, it might appeal to the older audience since it could bring a sense of nostalgia. However it could relate with young adults due to the narrative of the film. Due to it's blatant irony and general humorous nature, silent films should appeal to both millennials and generation z with social media allowing for people to say whatever they want, along with the popularity of memes. This allows them to decipher the humour in the narratives of most silent comedy films, perhaps attracting them further.

Inspiration
Charlie Chaplin has been my main inspiration, as his comical acting and directing really contributed in my film idea. His famous film, City of Lights, had been the film that truly related to the idea I wanted. It allowed me to come up with the concept of having a rom-com silent film. I feel like a film like that is lacking in today's market, thus giving my film the space to stand out from the crowd.

Research
Since my Silent Film idea, I carried out thorough research into the types of conventions and styles of editing they used in that era. I sent a survey to 10 people, varying in ages and gender, however unfortunately only received 4 responses.

About Film
My short film's title, Rendez Vous Amoureaux, is french for The Date. I wanted the name of the film to have some sort of hint of what the film will entail but not give too much away. The movie is heavily inspired by the silent film era, predominately the most notable figure in film industry history, Charlie Chaplin. I strived to give off the same aesthetic and vibe he had in his films that drew audiences from around the world.
The film starts off with Evangeline, the only character, played by myself, Hodha Hassan, appearing to put on make up. It's evident that she struggling and doesn't know how to apply it. We then see that she cannot find anything to wear ,thus, leading her to wear her pyjamas. Evangeline then proceeds brush her hair, but its really knotted and hard too.
